Default advice on video website

I wanted to have a cooking website where I cook, especially New Orleans food. So the question remains,do I have to show my face? I was just going to do a video of me cooking I dont have an island in my kitchen or camera crew. I thought that this was fine the purpose is food right? Not my face, help me out.

P.S. Lisa what games you play cause I have a 360 and wii too,I see the wii is about to be booted by the Natal,im so excited.

For starters it would be fine. If your recipes sounded interesting, the video quality was good and you added some funny stuff, you might just pull it off.

Maybe a Cajun flying shrimp hitting the camera lense while your filppin it.

Perhaps you could borrow some Forest Gump lines about cooking schremps 100 different ways. You'de have to practice Bubba's accent though.

Did you ever watch the series Home Improvement with tool Tim Taylor? No one ever saw his neighbors face and Wilson was like the bomb diggity

It's all about giving information to people. If you show your face how can you show the cooking procedure?
Forget your face and concentrate on the information that you intend to transport into the people's mind.

BUT I would make ONE introduction video and place this on your homepage just showing you (your face) and saying hello to your visitors and explain your site.
I think your idea will be very successful..

Default Regarding your question...

I believe your video on cooking would fly...Jordy made some interesting and good suggestions...You might try some New Orleans jazz music in the background ...something like "When the Saints go marching in"...Jordy's idea of showing a Cajun shrimp flying is a clever thought also...You could substitute some Cajun music instead of jazz...or you could add a bit of Mardi Gras flavor to the video...such as the narrow streets in the Bourbon Street area packed with prople singing and dancing and making merry...complete with all manner of beads and flowers around the necks of the marching people...a real spirit of "Let the Good Times Roll"...All of this would be background setting while you show yourself cooking a festive dish...I like your idea very much...Play around with it and I believe you may well have a hit in the making...Good luck...I wish you well...William Wilson

I think you should not use music when you explain the cooking procedure as this would annoy people as they get distracted and can't understand what you are saying. They want to learn cooking and not listening to music!

If somebody would use music and I hardly understand what the cook is saying, I would leave immediately as this would really put me off.

Default music

Well Nobi the music isn't going to be loud, if you ever watch a cooking show (food network)they sometime play music, like jazz lightly in the background.

Yah, just provide some slow soothing music that will provide ease to your audience and dazzle them with you cooking expertise. Also try and brain storm on how you can provide better service to you customer.
