Everything About Twitter
OK, who wants to share everything they know about using twitter to their advantage?
When I checked out this new site, I couldn't figure out what the big deal was. Actually, I was a bit clueless.
Then It hit me right between the eyes. People are constantly posting a link with their posts. It's all about traffic from my perspective.

Well..I know little about Twitter, other than all the newscasts are using the thing...I don't have a cell phone, that can use it, or own a Blackberry etc, so guess I am out of luck...Would probably take up more time, than I am willing to part with anyway, lol...
PS: Hey bud, just a quick note on your site...Was looking it over and noticed a misspelling on your nav...HAREWARE...Need a D in there somewhere.

I use it mainly to announce updates for things I'm working on, promote my YouTube videos, etc. You can also search Twitter and follow/network with people who have sites in your same niche. I've really been getting a lot out of it lately and have only been actively using it for about 3 months. At first I just used it to announce my blog posts (twitterfeed.com), but now I've been networking and much more active and it's paying off.
In fact, I sent a tweet to a company I'm affiliated with to let them know that I created a video about their product. Turns out, they put my video on their website and I began to get a ton of new subscribers, traffic, etc. (so glad I added my affiliate link to that video!!). LOL
Just like anything else, the more you work it, the better the results.

Terrific!
Good work, Lisa.
Everybody, I always point to Lisa as a good model. This is what I mean. Once in a while we get a member who just tries to copy what she does, i.e. make a site on starting websites. This is dumb. If you try to copy someone's actual work you are not going to succeed.
But when you look at someone who is successful at what you want to do, in this case being successful as a business on the web, and learn from their way of working, you succeed. Lisa has often pointed out her way of achieving success as content and marketing. Here she show a currently successful way of marketing.
In a recent video she noted how what worked in seo/marketing in the past and what works today are different. Here you see a specific example. While I am still focused on content (I have a small amount of time to devote to this area of my life) and have a lot of content to migrate from offline to online usage, I am watching her marketing ways carefully. I encourage everyone to do the same.
Most important lessons. Pay attention to what is working NOW and do it. Wake up to the fact that it is work, day after day work, that builds on itself. As you build content and add consistent marketing over time your base builds until you have a growing dependable business.
Lisa is great and many of the best young business people on this site are a joy to watch and grow with. My joy in being here is how it keeps me young and growing, too.

Thanks, James. An important point you made here is "day after day, it continues to build." Nothing is more true than that. Some people wonder about the impact of doing one or two things a day will have. Posting a blog post or posting to a few forums everyday may not seem like much within the first couple of weeks. But the point is to build, build, build and over time that work will slowly begin to pay off. Of course quality is much more important than quantity, but I just wanted to reiterate the importance of building.
