Default HOW do I ....

Ok im working on hubbies Website. It seems easiest to do first. I am using Webstudio. Only because download is free and it gives me an idea on how to get the ball rolling.

My Q is how do i make the buttons go to a new webpage on my site with new info....Im lost and dont know the (scienfic) name of that specific funtion of it. What do you call that anyway when you make you buttons go to another page? Sorry for such a generic Q...but just want to start a site and get it rolling and tweak it later and find a couple sponsers....i dont mind paying for this site out of pocket its the other site i want to work for itself.....

Hi Blossom,

I guess you're talking about a navigation bar? If you are, when you build a page, you should be promted to name the button that will go to that page. After you save all the changes and they go live on the web, your site should automatically go to that page when you click the button.
For example, at the top of this page, the "User CP", "FAQ", "Member List", etc are navigation buttons. And if you were to click on "User PC" you will be automatically sent to that page.

Or are you talking about using a navigation button to redirect you to a completely different site? For example, if you have a blog associated with your site, but it is not powered by Webstudio, you could name a navigation button "site blog", and when people click on it, they are automatically sent to your blog. If this is what you are trying to do, then you will probably have to add a meta tag to that page.

I am not familiar with Webstudio, but I'm sure they have a Q & A section, or a search feature in the help section. Search for the term "navbar or navigation bar", and "redirect a page" and see if that helps.

Hi Blossom,

I'm not sure if Webstudio lets you code HTML directly but if so the code would look something like this...

<a href="http://www.link-to-page.com"><img src="buttonname.gif" border="0"></a>

Where http://www.link-to-page.com is the address of the page you want the person to land on and buttonname.gif is the filename of the button.
