Wink Need some help with my site

Hey guys and gals,

I am new here so please help me with a few issues i am trying to cope with.

I have a website I had built, and I have a hosted link.

and i have bought a .com domain name with a parked web page.
http://aircraftdetails.com

now that I have both, I would like to have the domain go to the hosted site.
I can't seem to figure out how to do that.

if someone wants to see the site and domain i would be happy to pm them.

Please and thank you

If you have bought the domain, you should be able to change the name servers or name server entries.

Get an account with a good hosting provider, I use godaddy (I know they may not be the best)

You can either switch your nameservers to godaddy's servers or just change the nameserver records to point to godaddy's server IP address (you should get it when you are configuring).

Let me make sure I understand. You already have a website that is live correct? You want this new domain to forward to that existing site? Who did you use to register the domain? Most registrars have free forwarding where you can login to your account and choose what address you want to forward the domain to.

Well since they don't have domain forwarding then you are going to need to also sign up with hosting so you can redirect the domain to your existing website. Without a domain forwarding option you could do a meta refresh (google this to get the code). But you can't do this without a hosting company because you'll need to create an index.html page because this is where you would paste the code.

The only 2 ways I know to redirect a domain to another site is to either use the registrar's domain forwarding feature (301 redirect, for example) or create a meta refresh page that redirects the domain to another site. If anyone else has ideas please feel free to chime in.

P.S. Never give out your personal info. I think we can get this solved without you having to do that.
