How do I unzip a file?

I am trying to unzip a file.
Does anyone know of a good file unzipper for free?

David,

If it's a .zip file, you can double click on it and Windows will unzip it for your automatically. If it's a .rar file, you have a free 40-day trial of win-rar (http://www.rarlab.com). I am not sure I know any completely free .rar unzipper, but maybe someone else knows

If you are Vista, you're better off getting a third-party application. Vista is unbelievably slow when it comes to unzipping files.

I use ZipGenius which is free. The only problem is that you may get an error from time to time, but it doesn't affect the application.

I am trying to unzip a file that I downloaded and it has a zip ext.
It is an applaction file.

I am trying to place Light box on my pictures page.
The file comes from Dynamic Drive.

I also down loaded Lisa's template and couldn't open it.

I tryed your suggestion and couldn't open it eather.

So give me an F for zip files.

WinRAR is a good file compressor and uncompressor and is entirely free. Only a very small file download for such a useful program too.
