If you are looking to use samples from your keyboard and need to get them recorded onto your laptop you can use a program called sound forge, all you will need to do is connect the keyboard into your line-input on your sound card (ensure the keyboard is turned down at first) you should hear the music through your laptop now. Then with sound forge you can hit the record button and record your music into a wav file (no time limit like the basic windows recorder).
once you have recorded the sound you will see it visually on the screen, then all you do is highlight the areas of that sample with your mouse and use the menu to select the type of effects you want to use (echo, distortion, pitch, flange and so on). You can get sound forge with a 30 trial from download.com, I guess if you have not done this type of thing before it could seem daunting but this really is a simple way to do basic effects and after you just save them as wav files once you have done.
Check out youtube for tutorials and you will see what I mean but if you need more powerful programs then let me know. (here is a tutorial from youtube

Hope this helps
