Help please w/ Google Analytics

Hi everyone!

I've been using Google Analytics for about a week and a half now and it truly is an amazing tool. I've only been tracking my homepage though simply because I'm a little confused about tracking the other pages of my site. I've been reading Google's instructions on tracking your other pages but it just leaves me scratching my head. Do you add tracking to your other pages by using "ADD WEBSITE PROFILE?" I'm not sure. I'm using SBI by the way - just in case that makes a difference with adding the tracking code. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!!!

Hi Zeus

You need to add the code to all the pages you want to track and this is done though SBI!, not the Google account panel.

You would use the 1 piece of code for all your pages, the same code on your home page.

I'm not sure how SBI is setup with the pages. Maybe Lisa or another SBI user knows how to edit the footer of each page?

Well for non-SBI's you have to do it the manual way so first sign up to google analytic with your google account then simply create a profile with your selected details

Then adding the code/script to every page just before the

'</body>'

I think in SBI there's an automatic function that puts it on all of your pages! saves a lot of time.

Everyone,

Just thought I'd mention the tracker I'm currently using for two sites. It's called RiteCounter. You can create a free acount @ www.ritecounter.com.

They have a transparent option so there's no graphics or anything on your site - your visitors are clueless about the tracking unless they're wise enough to view the source code.

Similar to what other's have mentioned above, you simply paste in about 3 lines of javascript into every page you want to track. I haven't used google's tool but I would recommend this one.

Just a thought.

Whenever I add a new page to my SBI site, I just open up an existing page to edit and copy it to clipboard, then I add a new page and paste it in a block (I am using block builder). I always make it the bottom block.

It would be a nice addition to SBI to be able to have added automatically.
