Default Excel and table and width

OK - you folks at Website Babbler have helped me out before...i'm hoping you can do it again.....

I have an excel spreadsheet that I'm downloading into a table. I make a column for: "<td><tr>" then for "Data here" then "</tr><tr>" "More Date"and then"</tr></td>"end of table. The problem is, once I download into my sheet, the table ends up being larger then it needs to be and looks funky.
How can I get rid of all the extra "space" that seems to show up between the different items when I view it in html language???
(I hope this makes sense to someone!!)
Thanks!

Shouldn't the code be <tr><td>your data</td></tr>? The table rows hold the table data.

Yea - that was a type-0!

The point is my text is "wrapping" when there is no need for it to.

Good luck with that, I'll keep an eye on this thread for an answer. I have the exact same problem and it drives me crazy!!!!

I did find a workaround, but I don't like it. I insert my spreadsheed into Word as an object (that gives me the correct spreadsheet layout). Then I save the Word document as an .html, then I spend hours correcting the code (sigh).

Not a pretty solution and quite a bit of work. So needless to say, I gave up on inserting spreadsheets into my web pages...

I did find one "solution" - although it does not work all the time....
I made the width of my table more then 100% - which of course made it overflow into my sidebar - but then I changed it back to 100%. That seemed to work.

I will let you know if I come up with anything else!
