Default Page rank versus Alexa rank.

    Hi

At the moment my site is doing terrible terrible at approximately $20- $30 per month. Although a year or so ago I had a page rank of 3 and my Alexa ranking was around 1,500,000, At that time my site was making me $150-$200 per month, which is not great by any means but is a lot better than now.

Saying that what I would like to really find out is it the page rank or the Alexa rating that really counts in determining a websites income? Also what is really the one that is not only easiest to bring up in the rankings on the Internet.

The whole reason for me asking this is to find the best ways of making my website rate higher in the rankings and therefore make me a better income.

If anyone has any suggestions as to the best ways to go about this please let me know.

    Thanks a lot Craig www.victoria-bc-canada-guide.com

It could be because of the algorithm updates by the google or fluctuation of keywords.

In my opinion neither matters in determining website income. My blog's pagerank hasn't changed much in the past year but my income has gone both up and down. With regards to Alexa rank, I could really care less about that number as I have seen blogs with less traffic than my blog have a better Alexa rank. That number isn't really accurate in any way.

Traffic is a huge reason why a site's income may go up and down, but there are many other factor's as well. The seasons may impact income, for example November and December (holiday season) may see a huge increase in earnings as many companies put more money into advertising, and consumers are spending more so you may sell more products during that time.

For fitness-related websites, January is a good time because people tend to make new year resolutions to get into shape.

Each site will be different in how they make income. The best bet is to determine what income streams fit well with your site. It is always important, also, to ensure you have multiple methods of producing income to offset a drop in one income method.

I guess it doesn't matter of the 2. Alexa or Google page rank. You can get a good traffic even if you do Social Media alone.

PR is good indication of how Google trusts your website. Alexa is more of a vanity score than anything else. Your income depends on traffic and if your website provides solutions to problems.

Page rank & Alexa rank both are different things.page rank depends on page popularity. Page rank is 0-10 but Alexa rank is not in fixed digit(0-1,2,................)
