Backlinks have become so important to the scope of Search Engine Optimization, that they have become some of the main building blocks to good SEO. Backlinks are links that are directed towards your website. Also knows as Inbound links (IBL's). The number of backlinks is an indication of the popularity or importance of that website. Backlinks are important for SEO because some search engines, especially Google, will give more credit to websites that have a good number of quality backlinks, and consider those websites more relevant than others in their results pages for a search query.

Bl is very important as u said.. but many site even my competitor ins good position on SERP with out much BL and tehy are stable tooo.. I think google now changing tehir algo bcz many making BL by tools and some other ways....

It happens because it also depends on quality of backlink rather than quantity of backlinks. We should focus on getting quality backlinks.

Back Link is very important for E-commerce site. It generate lots of traffic to your site and you get more Business. More backlinks site get good ranking in Google top 10.

urminenow: Page Rank more important for what? Traffic? I really doubt it. And who is paying attention to a page is of interest for google, that is why the ultimate goal is getting relevant links.

Back links are really important. What I am noticing with my Wordpress blog is that if I keep saturating it with good content, lots of ping backs are coming in from related blogs. The links are building because of the quality of the information that I am posting.

Backlinks are very important. It's one of the factors to get a good ranking and PR. The more BLs your site has, the better.

Yes there is no need of number of back links it needs only quality back links it's really helps to get nice ranking to your site KW in search engines, But some times it also depends on site's On page work, if your site on page is strong then your site is comes in ranking in few links and day's.
