hi

sorry to be asking yet another question

I was just wondering, I have no problem exchanging links with other sites that are relevant to mine, people seem to always want to exchange links, but how can i develope one way links in to my site, who is going to want to do that when it would benefit them more to exchange?

I am worried that I will end up with a huge page of outgoing links and will that damage site popularity?

Also I have affilate ads are they counted as outgoing links?

inbound links are a lot better then exchanging links but exchanging links with a higher ranked page is better then a one way link from a low ranked site ,,,
and it's easy to get one way links from:
1- your email signature.
2- your posts signature.
3- your blog reply signature.
4- from groups like on face book.
5- by submitting to directories.

Write good articles and submit them to article directories like ezinearticles.com. You then get to put your link in the "About the Author" section of the website.

I would personally start building relationships with other blogs and site owners in your niche.

Link to other sites and let the site owners know that you have linked to them. They will probably explore your site and link to something they find interesting as well.

If you are going to do a link exchange with someone ask them to link to your site or article on an upcoming post of theirs. (Only if they find it interesting or useful of course.) In exchange you will do the same for them.

Blogroll links are good, but where do you draw the line?

If you want good one way links. Blog commenting on do follow blogs is pretty good. But only comment if you have something to add to the conversation. You need to show respect for the site owners as they are helping you by giving you a backlink.
