I have about 5 articles on ezinearticles.com, and I get a bit of traffic from them. Once of my articles has done quite well, in terms of readers over the past month, and the remaining are about average.

The ezines help establish yourself as an expert in a particular field, which may add to the credibility of your site. Of course, posting in forms can also have a similar effect.

I agree on the forums TechieGuy. I got an email from a guy who said he was doing a search for something on Google and found a thread I posted to in this forum and found my site from my sig file here. He is now a fan and says he's bookmarked my site. You just never know. Every little bit counts!

Digg is great for techy articles but not as good for Internet marketing. I guess they purposely left out that category to prevent a flood of MLM and "money making articles". You can still submit those but they don't get as much traffic from what I've seen/experienced.

If you can write an interesting and news-worthy press release about your site, it can work a magic.

Default Writing aritlce tips

The best way to get one way links is by writing articles. Everyone here agrees.

When I first started to market my website nothing I did worked. FFA's, too many affiliate banners on one page, constantly submitting to worthless submit your website free. I also got ripped off numerous times by some very unscruplus website "guru's" !

But I continued to push on. Read and consumed everything that I thought could help. I finally came to the realization that good content plus writing articles and submitting them to article directories is the way to go.

Things are finally starting to turn around.

I think posting on forums in your niche, link exchanging with similar sites and writing articles is the best way of getting backlinks.

Alongside social bookmarking sites such as Stumble Upon, Delicious and Digg
