Default Backlinks from this site to my site?

Hello!

When I do a search for backlinks to my site, all of my posts on websitebabble come up (because my web site is in my sig. file). My question is: do these links count as backlinks that increase the popularity of my site?

Thank you!

The Website Babble owner in me wants to say...

Yes! Yes! Post here multiple times per day! Get as many backlinks to your site by posting in WebsiteBabble. The more posts you have here as a member, it will help your rank over time.

But the honest person in me wants to say...

I don't think backlinks from forums help as much as they used to do. And in your case, since this forum is not related to your site's theme it probably matters even less. But on the good side, they probably can't hurt.

Hint: Listen the the honest person in me.

Default Thanks!

Thanks, Lisa! That's good to know. The majority of my backlinks do come from this site because I love this community

Even though as Lisa has honestly pointed out that the links from this forum may matter less because of the unrelated theme to your website, I think size will matter matter in the long run - add up the little points and in time the number will become significant to search engines - just my thought.

As you've said you love this community, keep posting.

I just found out that my poorly built You Laugh Tube site rank just improved by 1,000,000 in just 1 week. Like I've said before, I credit that to my email alerts and most of all to Website Babble. Those are the only 2 methods I have used so far. I think it does help, but even if it doesn't, I think this is a great community. I learned about Adsense, SBI!, and SEO here. Thanks Lisa.

I'm going to find a way to promote Lisa's forum on all of my web sites (If I ever finish them) with something like this:

Call me biased but I'm loving that badge Alpha7! And I appreciate your regular support of this forum, as it would be nothing without the regular contributions of the helpful members who post here. So thank YOU.

Default How about sharing the rights?

Alpha 7,

Good idea there. I'll bet a lot of members here would like to join in with you on this one. We get a lot from Lisa and the members here and we like to return the favor when we can.

How about officially donating your design to Lisa and the site members to be used for that purpose?

Personally I like what Alpha did and honestly I would place on my website (somewhere).

Gotta tell ya something funny. Every couple of days I visit Yahoo Answers for the obvious reasons of course. Well under the topic of Gambling, a person posted a question which was out of place. Guess what the question was about?
"How to design a website". Well I didn't see any other questions that needed to be answered that hadn't already been answered, so I took the time to help this poor soul. Here is my advice:

1. Go to Sitepoint and order their newest book on HTML and read, read, read.
2. Download a FREE HTML text editor. Advised him not to purchase Dreamweaver or Frontpage because he needed to learn HTML.
3. Here is the third piece of advice. I told him to go to Website Babble and also visit 2 Create a Website.

So hopefully Lisa my advice under Gambling will send you more traffic!

But of course she can have it! I was hoping it would catch on. I think this forum deserves to be promoted even more. (Geez, I sound like I'm running for mayor of Website Babble.)

I, Alpha7, hereby relinquish all rights to the above Website Babble Badge to Lisa, the owner of this site, to use as she sees fit.

However, if said owner becomes said billionaire because of a huge rank increase, I Alpha7 would accept any offerings that said billionaire would like to donate. (Maybe a fruit basket and nuts for the holiday.)

The quality is not that great on this badge, I will probably make another one soon.

Did we get off subject? Oh yeah, links, links, links. I think the links are working for me.

Thanks alpha7, I'll make sure all royalty checks from the badge come your way.
