Default Are Reciprocal Links Worth It?

Hi everyone,

SBI! teaches us about the importance of building reciprocal links, but I was just reading an e-book on quit your day job website and he said that those types of links actually cancel each other out.

What are your thoughts? I've been spending a lot of time lately working on building reciprocal links, but now I'm not so sure.

Happy Friday!!!

If it is related niche then it is ok. No harm done. You can get xtra traffic to site

One way links is the best

Lightbulb Links

Make sure you and your partner write a short description for each link cause search engines have never put much weight on a mere list-o-links page. Contextual linking is key.

Right, contextual is the only way to go. Find an article on your site that is relevant to your potential partner and weave in the link. And of course have them do the same for you.

Hi Melissa, I agree with what has been said here. Reciprocal links can be very successful if they are done correctly. The two sites should have something in common and be able to link to each other with an in-context link on a content page.

I have had very good luck with several reciprocal link exchanges that bring me consistent traffic every single month.

I used SBI!'s Value Exchange system when I first launched my SBI! site and I've got to say, I get more traffic from my link partners than I do with my non SBI! site. A few of my partners bring me 10-15 visitors per day. I just checked my traffic yesterday and was shocked to find out how much traffic one site has already brought me this month.

A big part of that is because many people who use the Value Exchange system own SBI! and have decent traffic. They've read Ken's advice and tips on contextual link exchanges so they make the most of the exchange.

So if you haven't joined Value Exchange, I'd definitely do that. Then use that to find link exchange partners.

I share the same opinion. One way links are the best solution. Try to submit your site(s) only to quality, high pagerank sites. This is how you get a higher pagerank to your site. Quality rather than quantity.

Kind regards,
Izabella

Default Thank You

Thanks everyone!

I have been participating in SBI!'s value exchange and my link popularity (which I guess is an SBI! term?) jumped from 16 to 30, but I haven't seen an increase in my traffic. I guess I'm getting a little discouraged

I'll start to work on some one-way links too. Are articles good for building one way links? As in writing articles and submitting them to ezinearticles and sites like that?
