Default Banner Help

Which site are you having problems with?

Is the banner just an image at the top of the page or is it a code?

Most likely there is an picture in a folder called "images" under the html directory that was your banner pic, and most likely you would need to change the html in the index.html or index. htm file.

If any of this makes since, check it and let me know what you have found out, if not, hit me back and I'll try to explain better.

What software are you using to design and upload your pages? I know that if you are not careful with DreamWeaver, your links and image codes will get a little screwy.

i haven't figured out yet how to use entropy banner

what i normally do is i save a the image file and name it something i can remember and put it in a folder i can remember on my hard drive.

then when i need it, i kinda cheat. i use the HTML editor in my pages i'm editing. i click on the icon for adding a picture and place it where i want on the page. once its there i click on the image while i'm in the design tab on the html editor and then click the link button, then i add the link where i want the banner to deliver the surfers too.

because i don't want surfers to leave my page, after i've added the link i go back and right click the image, it opens a box and i go and pull down the tab for new page, so that whenever someone clicks on a banner on my site, it opens a new page, when they're done with it and close it, my site is still there. I want to promote certain things, but i don't want to lose my visitors by sending them to another site altogether.

usually though, code is provided, and i simply go to the html editor and paste it wherever i like.

To make a link open in a new window or tab add:

target="_blank"

to the link tag.

here is what it should look like

<a href="http;//www.website.com/" target="_blank"><img src="banner.gif" /></a>

I am not sure I completely understand what you are asking? That code will open the link in a new window.
