Default Higher Quality Youtube Videos?

Hi,

It's been a while since I've last posted...I decided to take a break from websit building for a while.

Now, since it's the start of summer, I've started on it again.

So today, I worked on my videos page. I realized that the videos are of poor quality/clearness.

How can I make their quality higher?

Many thanks,
Jim

What do you use for video recording most the time full version of hypercam is good. But also if you take small areas of the screen and not the full screen that can help. But other then that the only thing is to get one of them programs that cost a lot. But hypercam works good for screen shots . But if you mean like video camcorder then its the camera. Now if its games you are recording use fraps and if its not good that means its the graphics card you have .

thanks for your answer, but maybe I didn't state my question clearly...

I meant that I want to know how to make the video quality on my site better, meaning that I copy the embeded code from the youtube site and put it on my site...

Thanks for answering though.

Welcome back!

The quality of the video on your site depends on the quality of the video when it was originally recorded. So if the video was recorded in low quality then there's nothing you can do to improve it.

Due to file size constraints videos get compressed quite a bit when they are uploaded to YouTube. And in some cases the compression happens twice... once by the creator in their video software and then again by YouTube when uploaded. One thing that does help is if you decrease the size of the video display. I think the default is something like 455 x 325. So try decreasing the size in the code. For example take 100 off each parameter so the video is 355 x 225 or something like that.

A lot of people ask me why my videos are so clear but they don't realize that I display them at a smaller size so they appear clearer.

Smile Size and Rate.

Hello, and this question just makes me happy to answer. I am not bragging, but I am very experienced with online video and screen recording. I think I can fix your problems.

First get a good screen recorder. Camtasia Studio 5 is THE BEST and you can download it for free for a 30-day trial before paying $300 for it. If you don't want Camtasia, try Camstudio. It is a lesser quality screen recorder, but being free it is a cheaper alternative. It is also the best quality free screen recorder.

Okay, now you have your recorder, but the video quality is still bad. When picking the recording size, 640x480 is a MUST. DO NOT IGNORE THIS TIP! Why is it a must? Because about 95% of online video is this size, and with your recordings that size they won't be adjusted, resulting in the original quality.

Okay, that last tip was major, but you can also do more! Adjust your frame rate to 5 frames per second and leave the key frame rate at the recorders default.

Now you are set, enjoy, and make some good videos.

Thanks for letting me express my video knowledge!

P.S. Save in .wmv or .avi file type for highest quality, fastest uploads, and best file size compression!
