Forgive me! I'm new to this!

Okay, here it goes....(not sure if this is the place to post?)

You know those little pictures that people see next to website name, once they have bookmarked your page? (Like websitebabbles little WB in orange/black or Googles "G")...

Are those called icons or widgets?
And how in the heck do i create/get one for my site?

I feel silly asking but its been driving me crazy!

Any insight would help! Thanks in advance!

Those are favicons.

You can easily create one by using an icon editor. Maybe someone can tell you of one to use.

Once you create it, you upload it to your host, and then reference it in the head section of your HTML as:

<link href=[Icon location] rel='icon' type='image/x-icon'/>

I use http://www.html-kit.com/favicon/

It will let you browse your computer for an image and it will convert it to the right dimensions to use it as a favicon. Then it will give you the file name, which you can save it to your computer, upload it to your host, and insert the code that TechieGuy gave.
