Default Video or Print [corrected]

I'm reposting this, cuz I don't what I did wrong at first, but it was where no one could respond to it...so here goes...

Video or Print???

On my website, I'm going to post interviews...but I'm perplexed...I record them either on camera or by phone. I can then save either format to video form for play on YouTube(and that way I can put their link on my page instead of uploading from a file on my computer; simpler for me.) and place my logo on url directly in the vid...

My dilemma is I want to also print my interviews in text form, but the time it takes to transcribe them is lenghthier than I would like and in turn would keep me from posting interviews reguarly. I know there are speech recognition programs, but I'm hesitant to try one cuz with these rappers talking that street/hip hop talk...I don't think the programs could handle that. My thought is that by printing interviews, people will stick around longer to read, and thus be exposed to my ads longer...but I know many hip hoppers don't care to read and if they listen only, they don't have look at all and thus won't see my ads....

So should I do video, text, or both...what are you all's thoughts?

I'm not sure that printing is the best way to go. Seems to me people would rather watch videos.... especially if the interviews are really long. I've found that people don't like to read a lot of content unless you break it up very nicely. In fact I get complaints from time to time about too much text on some of my pages.

Perhaps you could post snippets of the transcript as a teaser and then just post the video as well? Or if you really want to have the transcript on your site you could publish it in a PDF and allow people to download it. This is good because those who like it may email the PDF to their friends and you can put ads in your PDF file back to your site. It could be good for viral promotion.

Hey thanks for the response...what do you(yall) think of me embedding a youtube vid, instead of just uploading my own format. In the past with my other website, it was a smoother upload process to embed the youtube vid.

Outside of the pdf option, do you all feel that the vid only option will deter away from my ads on the page...cuz most of my interviews will be audio only vids with only still pics displayed...and users can technically listen while surfing another page....which takes away from them viewing my ads...although it frees up my turnaround time, with me not having to type all those interviews(very hard work)

Well you can still ad other related content on the pages with the videos right? Even though you may not have transcripts, how 'bout other news and relevant info that the viewers may enjoy?

I definitely think YouTube is the way to go. It's compatible with everyone's browser and easier to manage. I actually thought of using another paid video host so I could have more control over the video but decided against it when I realized how much traffic YouTube alone is bringing me.
