Default Host Images?

Hi all, I am finding myself wondering something. How would I go about hosting images or flash and java based games on my website? I think I know how to embed them in my html and all, but what about having a submission section so that people can upload their own items to my website?

You will need a PHP and MSQL or ASP and SQL type script and allow users to register on site with validation and then be able to upload their material to your site.

Alternatively you can implement a social embed type of site. Embed metacafe, youtube etc. videos with an embed script.

You can upload images to site with script as well

Hope this help

I figured I would have to use something like that, even though I don't know anything about PHP, MSQL, ASP or SQL. Are there any good tutorial websites or boks that could explain them better?

I suggest you get a image hosting script. You don't need to create it yourself.

Try these links: You will have to pay for these scripts.
softbizscripts.com/image-gallery-script-features.php
aihscript.com

Alternatively do a search in Google for "free image hosting scripts"

If you want to learn php, msql etc. then there are many resources online. Just do a search in Google.

Hope this helped

Default Good advice.

Webtoy,

Lajocar's advice is probably as good as you can get if you want to get underway with this soon. The languages and databases you mention are not as quick and easy to learn as html and css.

If you do want to learn them, I would recommend going with php and mysql because they are not only excellent but widely used, open source and free. I have often recommended w3schools because they are extremely dependable and up to date but I have also been looking a lot at tizag.com lately and find that it offers really tremendous tutors. They possess a clarity and easy to follow presentation that I think is almost in a class by itself.
