Hi, as my name says I'm new to this. I have and idea of the kind of website I want to build, and have read many articles, especially on "2 create a website".

I want to create a website all about fishing, but I want to have photos on my website of things related to fishing. My question is where do I find these photos, are there websites that I can go to and download them for a fee, or even better websites that I can download pics for free, or do I have to take them all myself with my digital camera...and that would take a lot of time to take all of the photos I want, and since i'm not a professional photographer, they might not look very professional.

Hi and welcome!

There are several stock photography sites out there but most of them are very expensive. For example, there is photos.com that has tons of pictures and I'm sure would have what you need but there prices are VERY high.

Most of the free picture sites only have clipart and cartoons, not real photos like it sounds like you need.

Unfortunately using your own photos is probably best. Have you tried doing a search for something like "free stock fishing photos" in Google or something like that?

As ppcFanatic suggested, fastest way would be to go to these stock images websites and find your desired pictures. Another thing you can do is search images on google. But i would suggest to not take pictures from other websites for free since there could be copyright issues.

www.sxc.hu - you have to register, but its free. And they have over 250.000 HIGH QUALITY PHOTOS! A real treasure.

If you want to use, what some best advertising companies use, go to www.gettyimages.com. This is a paid service.

www.sxc.hu is my favorite. I've only used that website while finding pictures. There are some real gems ... but a lot of not-so-gemmy pictures too. :P
