Question about embedding video files. Help plss

Hi,

In 2createawebsite.com, i read that uploading video files on web would eat away space and effect the performance of the site.
But if you have your video on youtube and just embedd their code in your site, will it have same performance effect?
I think it will not but will it be substancial?

Also will there be huge performace difference between using embedded video or just keeping the reference link so that
when user clicks will take directly to youtube website? I want to have my video files to stream in my website though

I haven't tried to embed video in my military site yet, but I have embedded YouTube video on an online newspaper, I write for. The easiest way of course would be to link to the video from your site, thus saving your bandwidth.

On our online news, though, they require us to embed the video directly into our pages. If you care to, you can check out this post on my site with a railroad video from YouTube. There seems to be a slight delay while transferring the source to the page, however it is very slight. Hope this helps.

When you link to videos or embed a video on your site from you YouTube it does not take up your host's bandwidth, but if you have a lot of video embedded on one page then it can make the page load slower.
