Default How do you promote You Tube videos?

I am planning to make some You Tube videos this month while my husband's off work and I'm wondering what we'll need to do to promote them once we get them up.

What are the best ways to promote You Tube videos?

I got a lot of traffic to my YouTube videos by embedding them in my site. Since your homeschooling site has decent traffic you've got an advantage like I did. Keep in mind people can also find your videos via the youtube search engine so that's another way people will find them. I didn't do anything extra to promote my videos. I just embed them on my site and make sure I tag them with good keywords when I upload them to YouTube.

    Default Try this as well...

    Hey Jazzy,

As Lisa mentioned, it would be a good idea to place your videos on your site. In addition to your site, I'd highly recommend you place your videos on your social networking profiles as well such as MySpace and Facebook.

Also - once you've created your videos, go to Tubemogul.com and submit your videos there. Tubemogul will automatically submit your videos to many video sharing websites similar to YouTube. It's automated plus it's FREE.

    Highly recommended.

    Cheers,
    Levi

You can also promote your videos on Youtube just like as we do PPC for our sites.

What I dont understand, however is, "even if", Tubemogul does submit you videos, to other video sharing sites, how are you gonna make these link back to your site??

I realize you can paste your "website address", next to your Youtube videos, but if Tubemogul distibute's your videos, how do you; for one, know where their distrubeted too, so you can; for two, add your Hyperlinks????

and I also embed it in my "friendster" account/profile so my friends/visitors will be able to see it on my page..

'IF' the video has some fun content, it might be worth exploring social bookmarking for it.

I'm new to the video posting game. I've created my first video.

Are there any examples of some good keywords when tagging your video? Are there some words that are considered standard?

    Thanks for any input.

One way that you can do to promote your video is to email your friends in your friends category. You can also create links to other websites pointing to your video. It is also important to choose an interesting title and description for your video to attract viewers to watch.

    Default Follow Lisa

It seems to me that Lisa does it pretty well. She may do other things, but primarily ( I think ) she just does such excellent videos that her growing subscription folk keep referring to others and others and the group of followers just grows and grows. Viral is the word, right.

Lots of good advice on this thread. I will add a very important thing.

Make Sure you Embed your URL ON Every Video you Upload

Meaning you overlay? your URL on your video... This way whoever embeds your vid on their site, or it's on any other video sharing site, they will see your URL

I put my URL on the bottom of every video and have it there for 100% duration of the video and from my direct traffic which is hundreds of unique visitors a day tells me that it works...

How about digg and stumble upon? Are those sites useful for videos? I am not very familiar with those quite yet. Monica Beltran

Reposting Youtube videos on Facebook would be a good idea to promote your videos further. Anything you post in FB can be viral and can be passed or shared to various users.
