Hi

I just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on this. I will be having recipes
on my site, and I was wondering if it is ok to make a picture of some of the
ingredients in their packaging showing the label? Many people haven't seen
these items before and it would help them to know what it looks like when they go shopping...

We often see labels covered up in TV productions but that is because the makers are not being paid to endorse that particular product, but if that's the product you recommend for a particular recipe on your site, it makes perfect sense for you to help people to identify it.

The product manufacturer certainly won't have a problem with you doing that! The only time they might is if your site had something negative on there that they wouldn't wish to be associated with, but I'm sure that's not the case so you'll be fine.

everybody likes free publicity
and maybe when your site is popular on the web you could contact the label manufacturers and ask them to pay for advertisement
