Hey I like the idea.. but honestly its a one quitter hitter.. what I mean by that is if i ask myself if there is a slight chance if I would ever come back to your page I would have to say No. I guess in coming from Simon Cowell point of view. I mean I commend you for making 165 pages of web page and 4 months of work cuz thats too much time for me. I have a suggestion.. instead of putting a chat block that nobody will ever use put a link to your custom Skate Forum! so you get those suckers keep coming back to your page.. or you know that people like to interact so throw in some comment modules after your videos and articles.. well im not an expert but thats my opinion hope it helps a little...

The term "related links" makes one think they are leaving the site, or they're ads. You'll want to rename that to something like "Articles" or "Related Pages" so people know that those articles/links are part of the site. It's important to google that people stay on your site as long as possible. The easier you make it for visitors to find all the content on your site the better. People want to stay, they leave as soon as they don't think there's any more to see.

I agree to get the word "link" off your site.

I thought your left side navigation was very well done. Makes sense, easy to follow where I was in the site. It's a shame you lost adsense because I think the ads would be more relevent to your site content.

I would look into Amazon as an additional way to monetize your site. Their keyword based widgets are nice because they update on their own.

hello again.. i was looking over your site and I think you need a better layout. There is so much good content that could be laid out better. May I suggest Joomla, they have a great content management system plus their templates are off the hook.

Talking Here I go with the low tech stuff again!!!

Sorry,
as I read all the posts about no traffic and no sales to websites I keep thinking about going old school..
You guys have the web, high tech way to promote figured out.. I'm here fighting for the old school way along with new school..
If you have a skateboard site, couldn't you start outside the cyber world to promote what you do...
Get someone to design a sticker or a flyer with cool graphics and JUST your website and your myspace on it..
don't try to sell anything..
maybe say log on and get 20% off your next purchase(mention the flyer to get the deal)
it's gotta look good so skaters will want to pick it up and more importanly put it on their board or where ever
distribute the stickers to local skate shops, skate parks, coffee houses, music shops, where ever you think skaters will go.. they will go to the site just to check it out.. CAN YOU SAY YOUR LOCAL COLLEGE !!
your target market is super active.. sure they surf the web.. but they are not so likely to read to many blogs..
now they are on myspace and facebook.. hit them there.
Hit all the skater type bands and invite everyone to you site
have a really cool link and ask everyone you know to post your link on their site
Post shout outs on skater clothing websites or skater club websites..
attend skate events in your town and even out of town when time and money permits
Even you can be a sponsor at skater event.. if you sponsor an event make sure they post your website on the flyers
(have a couple of cute girls pass out your flyers or stickers) The girls SHOULD HAVE SEXY SHIRTS WITH YOUR WEBSITE ON THEM..
get pictures of the girls and post them on both your myspace and your web... IT'S YOUR PERSONAL STREET TEAM!!
Partner with a local tattoo shop or cool clothing store or popular band in your town .. offer to go in half on a box of 5000 flyers, your website on one half.. just your website BIG with graphic in the backgroud.. (and a coupon for those who log on...)
On the other side who ever your partner is
In a month, the whole box of flyers should be gone..
Hand to hand in sport parks, on car doors at skater events, in clubs and spots where skaters go..
I KNOW YOU ALL ARE GOING TO EAT ME ALIVE.. but you have to look at your target market!!! and when they cyber stuff is not working ya gotta GRIND it out!!!
kisskiss

Default GREAT IDEA MAN!

I THINK IT LOOKS GREAT MAN. I LOVED THE VIDEOS AND IT LOOKS AWESOME. YOU SHOULD REALLY WORK HARD AT PROMOTING IT ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND EXCHANGE LINKS AROUND WITH OTHER SKATE SITES. VENTURE OUT OF THE SKATE SOCIETY A LITTLE MAYBE ON ROCK MUSIC FORUMS, SKATING CLOTHES SITES, ANYWHERE WHERE YOUŽLL BE ABLE TO ATTRACT YOUNG AUDIENCE AND PROMOTE IT. ALSO THE VIDS ARE A GREAT HOOK. TRY TO PROMOTE THEM AND NOT ONLY THE SITE IF YOU CAN DRAW AUDIENCE TO THOSE VIDS IŽM SURE YOUŽLL GET THE AUDIENCE YOU WANT. REALLY COOL SITE!!!!!!!!!!!

I am no expert but I agree with others that the black links to the left with blue letters are an eyesore and need to be toned down or changed, my only other constructive criticism is that the front page below where it has the join us box on the left and under where you have Ad on the right looks very empty, when the page first loads it looks full on each side and very impressive but then when you scroll down it gives the appearance that you have run out of content or that it just looks empty on each side giving a feeling of void, other than those two issues I say the page looks great and well done.

Another idea for you is that when my younger brother was big into skating the guys always liked watching videos of wipeouts or whatever they call it when you crash and those always seem to get the most attention so you might post a video link on the first page of a wipeout or something like that because people are sure to play that video because it’s an attention getter and causes people to say longer.

I also think the other poster had a good idea about promoting your site, I also remember my brother who at the time was like 13 would go to skateboard shops and buy T-shirts with cool logos and graphics and they would throw in stickers although they usually ended up on the wall or books and not his prized boards.

Thank you so much for your reply,

i agree with you 100% about the navigation on the left. Im still looking for a new one to replace it, currently no luck. I agree with you on that as well, i am going to fill the ad box with ads and on the left im still looking for content to fill it up with.

I agree with you on that most skaters like to watch wipeouts allot there is also a show on MTV dedicated to this called scarred. I will certainly ad that in now.

Yeah i have some great plans for advertising but i dont think my website is quite ready yet. I need to have more videos, content to fill up the gaps like you said and more products. Once my website is ready i will be making some stickers and t - shirts. The stickers i will throw out at local skateboarding competitions and the t-shirts i will wear my self and put them up for sale on the site and see how they do. I also skate for my local shop and he said he will give out my stickers with every skate product he sells allong with his.

Thanks allot for all your advice, its all being taken on bored.
