Javascript, Awsome!

I was searching the net once again and i found out what a great feature javascript can be to your website

There are some great scripts to enhance your website whether its a small clock/calender or a fully functional gallery.

I made mine the other day.

If you click on the gallery it should show a neat little sideshow which i thought was not intrusive at all and quick loading.

Other features of javascript includes text alteration, and mainly emphasizing your existing content to make it catch the visitors attention. I would recommend it to everyone even if its the smallest of coding.

e.g. A copyright auto-updater, which simply updates your copyright text at the bottom of your page to the latest year.

I didn't see the clock/calendar. Did you remove it?

In the future, please be mindful that inviting people to view your site is a slippery slope in the forums (unless it's in the site review forum). I know your post is innocent and you were not trying to self promote but I have to be careful of what I allow and the message that sends to other members. Otherwise it opens the door for subtle self promotion.

Next time if you just mention the page you put it on without putting the link to it, that would be OK. That way people can go to your sig file to view it.

Again, nothing against you but I have to protect the board. Hope you understand. I know it was innocent on your part.

Now where is that javascript on your site?

Javascript is awesome. Sometimes you can't accomplish everything on the serve-side and javascript can help you make your site more interactive and fun for the user.

I didn't see the calender either but i saw the ajax image slideshow.

I haven't as of yet but a clock or calender up yet however its something i could look into i was just saying its a complete possibility even the smallest of things.

Also on the same website you can find Java applets which host various features such as chat rooms or mini apps. Thought theres always one downside with Java or javascript people may not necessarily have it installed or enable just like flash player or shockwave.

One of the best sites I use often to enhance sites for clients is www.dynamicdrive.com. It's a wonderful resource for webmasters and all the stuff is pretty cool...
