Default Just use your browser

sawadnet2

If you save your file with the .html or .htm extension you can just click on it as you would open any web file and it will open in your browser even though it is on your own computer.

James is correct. The browser will read your HTML and notice the CSS file location is load up that file to display your page correctly.

Talking HTML

Hey sawadnet2. Here is the HTML for creating links:

HTML Code:
<a href="yourlinkurlhere">yourlinktexthere</a>
For example:

HTML Code:
<a href="http://halophoenix.blogspot.com/>Halo Phoenix</a>
This would create the link:

Halo Phoenix

Let me take the HTML apart for you:

<a href - Tells the browser to start the link

="yourlinkurlhere" - Tells the browser what the link leads to

>yourlinktexthere - Tells the browser what to put for the link

</a> - Tells the browser to stop the link, preventing all the rest of your words becoming a link

I hope this helps! Just tell me if this is a little bit foggy. I also hope this is what you were looking for !

One suggestion I have for you is to get 2 monitors for your computer. This does require that you have a computer with a video card that supports two monitors. And it costs money for the extra monitor as well. Once you have that, create the html, css, and programming on your main monitor in your editor of choice. For me, my second monitor is to the right of my main one and I have my website browser open there where I preview my site.

The transition is very quick and easy between monitors. I make changes to my html and css on the left monitor. Bam, I just click over to monitor 2 and refresh (F5). This makes for some pretty quick testing, learning, and development. Not sure if it's for everyone, but for me, it is absolutely helpful.

Goto a website like http://www.netcraft.com and enter the website address in the upper left box. You can then view all the information about this website, including the ip address and host being used.
