Default Show/Hide HTML?

Hi,

What is the HTML code for show/hide buttons? I really need them on my site.

Thanks,
Gigababbler

For example, if I have loads and loads of information all on one page, you wouldn't want to scare the readers away, so the solution is to put show/hide buttons beside each heading. When someone clicks the button, the content comes out. When they click it again, it hides.

I hope I'm making myself clear to you

Now I understand, the html thing threw me.

What you are talking about is actually javascript, not html.

I wrote you up a quick script for it. Just open it up and read the readme.txt.

It's fairly simple, just copy and paste the code from "head_content" text and put it in the head tag on your page. Then copy and paste the code from "content_box" text and place it into your page. Place your content and title where I've stated in the readme.txt and you should be good to go.

Here is the link to the .zip

Hope that helps.

Lisa, when you have time can you please check why I cannot upload more than one kb of files here? I have the webpage.zip for the other thread which is 1kb (and had to delete a previous upload to do that) and when I tried to upload this one, 1.6kb, it stated that it was over the limit by 1.6kb. It states 97kb or so limit but 1kb? I don't want to remove stuff from other threads in case someone else may need it. It may be something I'm doing incorrectly. Thanks so much.

By the way, Gig,

Do me a favor and don't just copy and paste everything I'm helping you out with. When you get time get into them and tear them apart to see how they work. That's the best way to learn all this stuff.

Your site's looking good!

That is one thing I am having trouble figuring out with this forum. I have the limit set higher than that but for some reason it's giving errors. There are 1,000 bytes in a kb right? So if I have it set to 95,000 bites, thats 95 kb? I'm stumped to why it's giving people errors.

That's ok, I'll just keep typing in links to my site.

Maybe it'll give me the motivation I need to get my blog going, eh?

I'd help out but I really don't know very much at all about VB. Have you tried to search their database or contacting their support? Not a big deal, I have LOTS of bandwidth so I'll just use mine rather than eating up yours. No hurry.

Yeah I have searched and it seems I'm interpreting everything correctly. I may have to go post a message on the VB forums. Thanks for understanding.
