For future reference whenever trying to change a table layout it's easier if you remember that you cannot just delete a table, something has to fill that space and, since all the tables are at absolute values, nothing is there to do so. Think of the entire table as a box stuffed with wooden blocks, if you remove one, nothing will be able to take its place. If you super-glue two together it will be one block but it will fill the entire space. It works the other way as well, you can't just go stuffing more blocks into your box (although as a guy I'm gonna try like hell

) but if you cut one or two down to make room, it will fit.
There, have I confused the issue enough?
To merge cells in Dreamweaver just hold down control and click the cells you wish to merge then right click and merge cells. I don't know how to do it in any other programs (except notepad) sorry. Told you I'm not a coding expert.
