Alright so on my site I am gonna have alot of links to other sites. Do people dislike when you make the link open in a new tab?? I want to provide the link but do not want them to leave my site.

Well...you can also overdo it with links...Too many links show may show that your not capable of producing high quality content and are just trying to make a quick buck, by linking to other sites with same or similar information. You need to make your links relevant to your content, and not overdo it.

As far as opening links, I would rather have them open in a new window on my site, vs sending them away...At least you would still have your site visible. All in all, if the linked site is more interesting than yours, they are likely to leave...Back to good old fashioned well researched and relevant content.

A better solution for this would be to add what is known as a lightwindow using a script.
http://tacnationinc.com/page.php?5 here is a perfect example of how this works. I linked the window to the fish logo. But you can view and browse the whole page with out ever having people leave your site.
