Default what is a good sitemap generator to use

I am building a website on recipes andwill have way over 100 pages
I was reading that you should not have more then 100 a links on a site map.
I have a website that is 3 teirs deep teir1 teir 2 and tier 3
teir one is my home page, teir two is all the house buttons on my navbar and they go too my tier two pages then my tier two pages go to my tier 3 pages.

anyway i was thinking of putting a sitemap on my navbar, house buttons.
then have it go to a site map page with tier 2 and tier three pages on it and then also have another site map page link on that saying like site map2 to put another 100 pages on is this the right way to do it and what should I use XML site map or HTML sitemap

my site is html transitional 4.01 3 column site, don't know if this matters just thought i would add it .

I'd ask your web host if they provide such software or you could google "Sitemap generator"

Hope that helps..

A sitemap enables engine spiders to index your site more accurately.
I can't imagine why you'd pay for one, unless you have a huge site.
This is Google's tool, so it should be pretty friendly.
