Default HTML Emails, Help me Find a Better Way!!

Hey I'm looking into finding a better way to code my emails going out to customers. Basically right now it is trial and error and proofing myself, but does anyone know of a resource that could be used to reduce this inefficiency? It seems like such a long process to make sure Gmail, Yahoo!, Outlook, and Notes all read the email correctly. Does anyone know of a program, or source that could help streamline this process? It's a pain to simply proof over and over again until the code gets right.

Thanks!

Default One way

One way to do it is to use a template. There are free ones that have been tested (or so they advertise) and some you pay for (I used to use one from High Impact). For free ones you might want to check out:

Personally, I have an email newsletter now for which I just decided to send out a link in a brief simple html message that is no more than a few short paragraphs promoting what is in the newsletter and a link for the full contents.
