    Default Why won't IntenseDebate or CommentLuv work with Blogger/Blogspot?

    There has to be something wrong with my Blogger/Blogspot template which has been heavily hacked and modified. I have followed every available guide on implementing IntenseDebate or CommentLuv with a Blogspot template.

    Last year, the widget option as well as the template mod option was in use, but that has since gone, meaning many tutorials on the subject are no longer as helpful. I'm still banging my head against the wall over this one.

    It's a simple matter of uploading your template to the IntenseDebate control panel which inserts the neccessary code. You then copy the entire template to clipboard and paste into the HTML area of Blogger. It should be that simple.

    One thing I've always been unsure of though (and which I have tried bothways) is using both the standard blogspot subdomain as well as my custom domain in the Settings panel for my blog/site.

    I've sent an email with my template attached to support@intensedebate.com.

    If anybody can give me just a clue on what the issue might be, it would be somewhere to start.

    I finally got it working! I've been to hell and back on this one, and it feels that much sweeter having perservered...


    Anyway, it seems that in the account settings for the IntenseDebate plugin, if you are using Blogger, you must use the blogspot subdomain to get the CommentLuv plugin working. You can of course change your actual profile URL to a custom one: that is to say when you comment on other people's blogs, and are logged in, your custom URL will show.

    Edit - I've used the newly updated CommentLuv/Intense Debate Blogger Template method. This is the only way to install this plugin now as the previous Blogger plugin method has been disabled.

    I got it working by a slight fluke. I am using the "simple" template but tweaked and modded.

    If you have any previous comments posted under the old Blogger comments system, CommentLuv WILL NOT show up on those posts. Delete those comments permanently and CommentLuv takes the place of the default Blogger comments system. You need to decide what is more important
