Why would you want to use a Google Search when your site already has search capabilities (via WordPress)? Maybe I'm missing something here, but "built-in" site searches look and feel much more professional, which goes a long way to help build user confidence (at least in my experience).
By the way, your site looks really clean and polished. Keep up the good work!

From what I've seen at least, the built in WordPress search is not a great search. It gives results in date order, which means I get recent posts that just happen to mention those search terms at the top and the post that is all about the topic - and with those terms in the title - 5 or 6 results down.
There may be plugins that do a better job (haven't checked yet), but - unless someone on here convinces me otherwise- I plan on using Google Site Search soonish. It's possible to customise it to look more like the host site and to remove the ads (admittedly at a price).
As I haven't done this yet I'm afraid I can't help too much (particularly as there's something wrong with my net connection and nothing on google.com resolves...), but there is a plugin you could try. If that doesn't work, Google found these posts on doing it yourself that look quite good.
