Wouldn't copy paste allow for editing?

Do you mean copy-paste from a PDF ebook to another application, or copy-paste into the ebook?

I apologize. I was under the impression the reason ebooks don't allow you to copy them to another application is because they could be edited (ie stolen). Does that make sense?
