That is a really good question. I know there are some, that do a large volume they process orders for other companies, so they are willing to take on a few high risk accounts because with their volume they can absorb the risk. You may want to look at companies like Digital River. HTH

It was most likely edited because it was spam

Hi and welcome George4624286

Linking to your own personal site is fine in your signature once you reach the right amount of posts (undisclosed). You do not have enough posts yet so you cannot add a signature. The moderator more than likely removed a link to your personal site. I had to add that rule because the amount of drop spam this forum was getting.

I also moved this to the hard goods/egoods category since merchant accounts are likely associated with this category.

The best way to find affiliates is to join one of the networks. I'm not sure which networks specialise in merchant account providers. But I would try Commission Junction (cj.com) for the US, Affiliate Window (affiliatewindow.com) for the UK, Zanox (zanox.de) for Europe and Clixgalore (clixgalore.com) for AU and Asia. There are many others but the ones I mentioned would give you some idea of prices and what can be offered.

You will also have to do some "selling" rather than spamming on some of the larger forums that specialise in affiliate marketing as I've heard from some merchants that the networks don't always do a great job of recruiting affiliates for your plan.

Now a few questions for you.

What exactly is a "high risk" merchant account. High risk to whom?
Is the service (in general) cheaper or more expensive to run than a normal merchant a/c?
Is there any danger of falling foul of UK/US moneylaundering agencies (FSA/ US Treasury) using an offshore (Hong Kong based ) merchant service.
Is the money automatically transferred back to a bank account in the merchant's home country or could it be transferred to different country?

Regards

Bob

Post Merchant account

Hi Bob ,

Thank you for your suggestions and below questions.Pls see my answers:

1、What exactly is a "high risk" merchant account. High risk to whom? ----High risk for those who run the high risk businesses, such as replica,gambling,adult,pharmacy,forex,MP3 download, software, cigars ect.
2、Is the service (in general) cheaper or more expensive to run than a normal merchant a/c?----It will be more expensive to run the high risk businesses.Because the merchant account provider should take much more risk, such as chargebacks, frauds and stolen cards.
3、Is there any danger of falling foul of UK/US money laundering agencies (FSA/ US Treasury) using an offshore (Hong Kong based ) merchant service---It depends. If you choose the right merchant account provider then you can avoid that.Take ctopay for example,it is based in Hongkong, working with the aquring bank---Bank of China, different from the private bank,so it will be safer and more stable.
4、Is the money automatically transferred back to a bank account in the merchant's home country or could it be transferred to different country?----It also depends.Different merchant account processors have different solutions.I also want to take Ctopay for example(I am familiar with it),if you use ctopay payment gateway, then the money not only can be automatically tranferred back to a bank account in the merchant's home conutry but also can be transferred to different country as long as the merchant offer his bank account in that country.Any questions, pls let me know.

Regards,
George
