Hi ustadbongo,

I think in google adsense homepage, you can find a help page that shows you the hotspots. You can also get suggestions about which type of ad to use. The hotspots are mostly around your content since that's where people will be looking. Google also suggests changing your ad colors to avoid ad blindness in your site.

Hey! I was just wondering, you stated that you started your website a few weeks back, how did you manage to get adsense so soon. I am starting a site and would like adsense at some point but was told it is not good for a new site to apply as the site is built. I have heard that one with a new site should wait up to a year to achieve success in getting adsense.

Hey ustadbongo: just another question, I was just wondering how adsense has been going for you lately? have you made anything off it as of yet?

I have made 5 bucks total. Then again this is my first site, it is only about a month old, and barely get any traffic. I just recently started averaging 20 visitors per day. So I still have a lot of work to do.

I think you need at least 1000 unique visitors per day in order to make anything significant from adsense, but I figured that it can't hurt to try it out and learn to optimize and master by the time I start seeing some significant traffic.

I would also recommend getting good analytics. This is a great free tool that helps your monitor your traffic and see where they are coming from. Its a great tool to help you optimize your site.

If you have any more questions just let me know, I will do my best to help.

What do you mean by not posting google ads right below the headline? are you referring to the header section. Like, in my header section I have two search boxes for my website, I am thinking about placing a google ad below my big search box and across on the left side of my other search box, will google ban me for this? you stated that you placed your ad under a headline, are you talking about the name of your site?

Default Heat Mapping

I hope you guys don't mind if I add my 5 cents worth.

I think what your looking at is heatmapping, its a little server side code/program that works with a clients web browser to monitor where clicks are made on your page.

The above is the Predator type image the program generates, which clearly shows the hot spots on the page.

Keep in mind this is a heat map of probably hundreds or even thousands of clicks, and no its not mine (I wish!).

Seriously though this kind of monitoring is only really worth while when you have some serious traffic, if your just developing an understanding in optimizing adsense ads ie color and placement, in my opinion nothing beats manual experimentation followed by monitoring your analytics data (CTR).

Also I seriously suggest you mix things up a bit when monetizing your blogs.

Don't write off affiliate products!

Especially new products that just have become available, or if you think a 'trend' Google Trends might give your niche a possible windfall of targeted traffic.

Generally speaking the hot spots are just below the header and down the right side of the page.

Anyway here's the link for the program, Click Heat

hi novicer. im not talkin about the name of site but the titles of each page. or titles within the page. you can look at the blank areas where the adsense used to be on my site charcoalandpencildrawing.com

i think only exception on putting adsense below title/headline is if it reads "google ads". "sponsors" etc

i dont know if putting ads below esarch box would be ok or not but as for me,after gettin my adsense banned then a threat to bann my account without warning next time, i would always avoid anything that im not totally comfortable with. i wouldnt put ads right below anything but use line breaks etc.

Google is particular about what the text above the ads states. The text can't mislead a visitor into thinking the ads below it are part of the site and not ads. With my blog putting the ads below the titles does not violate adsense terms since the titles are in no way misleading to a visitor. They clearly are the titles of the page, and the ad do look like ads.

Hey all, I was wondering if one has to create a box for placing google adsense in, or if google supplies a code for banners and square boxes that may be of interest for the person who has been approved. If you do have to create your own box for placing adsense, is it something that is difficult to do.
