Social Networking sites

I spent a good part of the afternoon plugging into several networking sites: technorati, ISBlog, Bloglines, Delicious, and Stumbleupon. I got the Stumble tool bar working ok, but I can't get a button to place on my site. Their button site is not working. Any ideas?

I was so excited about finding out that one of my new sites (3 months old) had over 300 links. Then I discovered that most were coming from Website Babble. (thanks to all of you)... now I need to get them to come from other places.

Well babble is the the best place, there u can find many experts to solve ur problems and also it delver some good amount of links, better work with other forums like digitelpoint, webhostingtalk and sitepoint

why don't you try posting your website link in others social news and networking sites maybe that will help here try in urselections. com

Social Networking works pretty well. Once you set it all up properly it can do a lot of the work for you. It can deliver decent web traffic to your website because people seem to be at ease on social networking sites. People are more relaxed and likely to check things out that sound informative or interesting. Also they deliver targeted traffic to your website because they are interested in what you know or have to offer. Targeted traffic obviously gives better results.

I need to clarify. I can't find a 'live' Stumbleupon button to put on my site. I need one with the linkage to place in my code. The Stumbleupon site has loads of icons, but none are live.

I use Twitter only, I update it once per day Its a cool way to send update about yourself.

Dee, I know of two ways that you can do this. Get Social http://getsociallive.com/ (if you have a WordPress blog), or try Add to any http://www.addtoany.com/
However these will give you links for all of the major social sites, which is a good thing because the icons will all be the same size and have the same look. If you know HTML you should be able to tweak the code for StumbleUpon.

I think Twitter is very effective. But the thing is it's a little rough starting off if you don't have any followers and your basically twitting to yourself. But once you get over that hump it's great. Especially if someone RT's your tweet.

StumbleUpon is great for traffic and yes make sure you have a more natural link profile. You need links from blogs, different social sites, forums and more to have a natural back link profile. Also remember when it comes to links, quality is better than quantity and avoid submission services and software.

Its a shame stumbleupon is not as good for traffic as it used to be. I remember getting 30-40 thousand visitors to my blog from some of my posts, yes im not kidding. Now you are lucky to get a few hundred over a week or two =/
