I think there is already a thread on this but here are some quick and easy tips to assist you on your journey towards success!

1. Find a Niche
2. Create a blog
3. Provide fresh content at least 3-5 times a day
4. Promote your blog through Blog commenting, forum marketing, or article writing.
5. Promote your site though you tube videos and other social networking by providing value and building relationships. Not an over night thing
6. Provide expert answer on sites like brainboost.com and wiki.answers.com within you category
7.Using PPC Ads to get your site on google's first page. This is only effective once you have a good niche. Because the clicks are cheaper and you get more visitors, which turn into optin and then sales.

8. Be flexible. This may not be an actually promotional advice, but it is something to keep in the back of your mind. Don't let limiting beliefs hold you back. I used to think i would never blog and now i got 1 which does fairly well. So make sure you keep your mind open and ready for changes when necessary.

If you need more info i suggest you pm me so i can help you even further.

There are many ways to do so and some include the basics of seo that actually every website should be implementing. However, it all comes down to content eventually.
Most importantly content that is not that competitive. Try writing articles about topics (on your chosen are of interest) that other websites do not discuss much about. The fewer the competition, the better the results. Do not underestimate that fact because competition is everything eventually.

Here are some of the factors you need to consider when promoting a site:

1. Content - you need to have quality content. This lessens the amount of bounce rate that you are getting.
2. On-Page Optimization - it deals with the proper use of title tags, meta tags, alt tags, headings, keywords and description.
3. Off-Page Optimization - it deals with building links.

A helpful little tip is to advertise your service manually on online search engines for free, but also pay money. Google and Yahoo are the top two in business suppliers, so if you are going to spend money advertising, use Google and Yahoo.

If you want to give your business a free start on the market, here is a list of good sites:

- Odeck
- Elance
- RentaCoder
- Work
- YellowPages

I would go to say the biggest contributer to your you ranking in search engines is the amount of websites that link to yours. However the websites linking to you must be relevant and some what reputable themselves to offer any type of noticeable benefit. If you have a creditable website related to your niche with a one way link to your website that shows Search Engines that you have something that is half decent, so the more income links the better.

If your websites are new and you don't have any links point to your website then i would say start with article writing and submit your website to a few directories.

1) Writing Articles
My favorite Article submission website is ezinearticles.com, they do give you help on writing your articles but try to keep them on topic to the niche of your website and make them actually helpful to others in some way. You can find many other Article directory websites by searching Google.

2) Directory Submission
Submitting your Website to a Website Directory can help you in 2 main ways, you get free traffic from the users that find you through that directory and you also get a free incoming link. The link isn't exactly a strong one but it gets you started. The two main Website Directories you want to try and get into are www.dmoz.org and dir.yahoo.com, start with those 2 and go from there. You don't just get added however, your site is review by an actual person and they determine whether your website is worthy of being added. So don't submit your website until you think it is ready, poor quality websites don't usually get in.

That's just a start for new websites, there is much more you can do.

• Blog about new content or services - A blog post on your own site letting your visitor base know that you added something new is a great way to get the word out about new content or services. Other webmasters who follow your site or RSS feed could pick the story up as well.

• Don't forget about offline promotion - Putting effort into the offline promotion of your company or site can also be rewarding. For example, if you have a business site, make sure its URL is listed on your business cards, letterhead, posters, etc. You could also send out recurring newsletters to clients through the mail letting them know about new content on the company's website.

• Know about social media sites - Sites built around user interaction and sharing have made it easier to match interested groups of people up with relevant content.

Your site is your tool. When a person enters a site, you have only a couple of seconds to catch her. The site must be well organized and have the right look and feel in order to make visitors stay and take action.

Default Promoting Website

Content is always king. Otherwise try social networking sites. Comment and be active of similar niche blogs and websites. Be active in forums. Use Yahoo Answers. Make a Youtube video. Submit your articles to article websites. You can join blog directories. I am assuming you have already submitted your website to major search engines. It helps if your website or topic niche is unique. The less competition and the more you know about your topic will shoot you to the top.
