I've seen it mentioned a few times and started to look into it because it looks like a nice way to get some traffic for a new website. I couldn't really understand it thought, so far it just looked like another way to add more websites to the favorites section. Can anyone help explain how social bookmarking promotes a webmasters website? Also is socialmarker.com a good example and place to do this?

Probably the best places are digg, delicious and stumpleupon for such things. They are a very good way to promote specific content, like a nice article from your website and therefore brings new referring traffic.

It's important to be able to create nice headlines and a nice first opening paragraph in order to attract people to read your article. This is an art by itself really and can be much important, as most marketing means are in fact
