adsense

hi guys,

I have just put adsense on my site. It has been live around six weeks now and I am currently getting 200-500 pageviews per day. I have just signed up for adsense and have placed the ads at the side. I am interested to get peoples opinions on how intrusive the ads are? I don't want the ads to be the main focus. I would welcome any thoughts or opinions on this

None intrusive at all.

You may want to consider placing some at the very bottom of your content too.

I agree on both points that Gavin made:

1) the ads are not intrusive at all.

2) to increase clicks, you can also add the ads to the bottom of your article.

By the way, congrats on getting 200-500 page view per day... that's certainly no small feat.

Thanks for comments guys. I'm happy with my traffic so far, mostly it is coming from forum signatures as I post on forums on my niche quite a lot. I did before I created the site too. Getting a couple of hits from google each day, I'm building content all the time, and working on backlinks, I hope the SE traffic improves in time. We will see.

I will look into putting another ad bar at the bottom of my articles.

By looking at your website, and based on information you've shared in this forum (in this thread and others) it sounds like your website is an emerging star! It is obvious that you developed (and continue to work on) a credible and useful resource about trading in the Forex market.

Now, from what I've read in the past, the Forex market is huuuuge right now!

Besides Adsense, how else are you monetizing/plan on monetizing your credible and useful website?

wow thanks for your comments! In all honesty I'm not sure about other forms of monetization. I started the site because I love forex trading and have been learning and trading for a couple of years now. There are so many scams in the niche, I thought I'd make something free to help people get started. I didn't really create it to make money, it would be nice to earn a bit for the hosting though. I think you can earn money from referring clients to brokers. I have not looked that though, maybe it would be worth it in the future if I get more traffic. I'm new to adsense, I will see how it goes. My main focus at the moment is to continue to build good quality content. I like the idea of creating a forum eventually, but I think I would need a lot more traffic to sustain it.
