Question promoting to college students

I'd like to start heavily promoting to college students somehow. There are so many college students in long distance relationships because of college and I want to reach them.

I've posted fliers at a college near me. It was successful, but of course you can only go so far with that.

Any ideas, besides Facebook?

Why don't you try to hire a few college students to post fliers at local taverns/bars, sports hangouts and the like. Perhaps you could barter to give the new hires free advice for posting your flyers about town.

As th advice is relationship oriented, perhaps you should advertise in some of the so called Dating Services and the like.

What about targeting the campus social organizations? Making connections you could put a spin on it... perhaps even involve the student exchange programs.

I have played with the idea of giving people bracelets (I have these bracelets I give for donations on my site) if they put up so many fliers.

But I don't see anyway to prevent me from getting scammed. Sure, they can say they put fliers up, but I can't go and check to make sure or anything.

I think the idea of promoting to college student is brilliant, because they are always looking to make extra monkey and are willing to try and even put for the effort!

Personally I'd give something away. Use this to get involved in and become valued to the community.

Make some flyers or booklets about long distance relationships. Get in touch with the student unions / advice services and offer them for free to give out to new students when they arrive in the autumn. Print 10-100,000 and ship 'em out.

Facebook is good, but (certainly in the UK, and I imagine the US too) there are a fair few forums devoted to university / college life. Quite a bit of their traffic is from new students networking and finding out about university life. Join and offer useful advice. Maybe see if you can write guest articles for student sites / newspapers / magazines.

While not directly related to your question, beef up and reorganise your website. There's some good stuff in your book, but I couldn't find most of it on the site. This is key content.

Edit: Oops, didn't realise how old the OP was. Hope this is still useful. :/
