Promoting Blog
I would definitely switch to wordpress, although there is a bit of a learning curve and there are costs involved, but its well worth it.
The niche you have chosen would be very hard to get a good position on Google unless you could find some unique keywords which had little competition.
I would look to promote your blog with gaming forums, blogs, Yahoo Q&A, articles and good quality content. Basically look for any place you can promote your blog without relying to much on search engines for traffic.
Do some spying on other gaming blogs to get ideas and single out features that appeal to you and put your own spin on them and use them on your own blog, though try and make your blog unique.
Don't forget offline promotion as well and tell everyone you know who would be interested about your blog. Word of mouth can be a great promotion tool!
