My traffic from Google also went up when I started doing the videos last August. Coincidence? I doubt it. I think it's another piece of the traffic puzzle. It would only make sense Google awards sites with higher Feedburner stats, links from YouTube videos with lots of views, etc. So yes, I try to make use of as many Google-owned tools as I can while they are on top.
Lisa, that's great. I can see in the Google SERPS that Youtube video clips are ranking alot in top 10 nowadays.
So it is good that your traffic is picking up and that you can place your link in description. Sometimes people take your videos and embed it on their sites.
I think that it is wise to use most if not all of Google services.
Blogspot / blogger is cool and I also have some. Wordpress is also cool.
I made one video but it's a slideshow type with pictures & me "rapping" about my niche. I need to make more though & actually speak & show me with my recommendations (not on though - lol).

Thanks so much John. It's funny because I have always HATED speaking (even if I'm in the room by myself. LOL) But I thoroughly enjoy doing those videos. It definitely makes a difference when you talk about what you love.
Rapping? Hmmm... maybe I'll do that for my next one.
