more content is not always more traffic

A lot of people are using content generators that generate 1000s of web pages, but search engines are becoming more smarter

I read somewhere that you should have at least 100 pages of content before you go live. I failed miserably at that. Is there a specific number or hurdle you need to go over before you start getting traffic?

I don't think you need nearly that many. I'd be in a world of trouble if that's the case. LOL My fitness site only has about 35-40 pages and it still gets 3600 visits per day. I launched with about 7-10 pages.

There is no perfect number and it depends on your site. For example, if you're building a directory of sites from A to Z and you only have A-D complete, then you would want to wait until you could fill up the alphabet more. But let's say you have a site on how to play golf and you have 15 pages of good content and it looks complete in that state, nothing wrong with launching then and just adding a bit as you go along.
