Default How to write a book.

Lisa, you mentioned that you're working on a book. Are these online books or are they actual books that one can purchase in a store. Elaborate on that a little please. Some good tips on book writing would be useful or a good thread to start for someone like me. I may be interested to do that later. Maybe how you got started etc?

Hey Jimmy,

It will be just another online book like the one I sent you in the other thread. I bought some software called eBook Edit Pro and it allows you to write your book using CSS, HTML, Javascript, etc. just like you're creating a website and then it compiles it into an EXE file that people can download.

I usually offer it from my site for free but you can also charge people for it and use PayPal to collect the money. I just prefer to give my books away for free because I include affiliate links and when people read the book and read about the products I recommend, I'll earn a commission. It's a viral approach to marketing your site because if people like your book they forward it on to friends, family, add it to their website and pretty soon your book is being passed around the net and it helps promote your website.

Go to http://www.ebookeditpro.com for details on the software I use.

Great tips lisa. I was wondering about the book as well. I wasn't sure how it was layed out for examples links, ads and the whole structure. I haven't downloaded your book yet. So, the book is basically a replication of your current site?

I'll download your eBook and check it out.

How long did you wait before you released your eBook? Did you leave your google and adbrite text ads in there too? How does that work?

Webdev, you simply lay it out like you would any HTML web page and the software converts the pages into the book format. I didn't use my site's template, I just kept it simple with my logo at the top. I didn't put any ads in it. I mostly promote hosting companies, Site Build It!, (affiliate links), etc.

My website creation tutorial is basically a condensed version of my site (more like a quick-start guide) and I have a book on ways to get traffic.

Thumbs up

This is an awesome tip and for the price it sounds like a great deal. Not to mention it adds "Content" which is what it's all about. And you're right if you're doing affiliate marketing what a great way to do it. I'm assuming also people get to rate your book? Great tip.
