Ads in Home Business Magazines

I was reading an e-book that suggested using Home Buisness Opportunity types of Printed Magazines is a great place to advertise, and some can be used with discounted advertisement rates. Has anyone done this and what results did you get, and on average how much did you pay per sale/sign up?

Hi Hubert,

I haven't done any magazines but when I used to market MLM programs, I used to advertise in the local newspaper under the Home Based Business section. Unfortunately my results weren't very good. Although I didn't do it for very long.

I don't have any experience with magazines but I can see how they may yield good results if you have the right audience.

Thanks for your input. Have you considered if there might have been other reasons for not getting good results, besides duration of time you ran ads, such as what your ad said or maybe category might not have been the best. Someone said when they ran ad in newspaper they put it under help or part time help?

Hey Hubert

Absolutely, and the reason I stopped is because I no longer participate in that MLM program I was advertising. I was very new to Internet marketing at the time and had little experience in writing ad copy. So I'm sure all those reasons you mentioned were factors.

But recently, I just haven't had a reason to advertise in those kinds of magazines due to the nature of my sites.

I've heard Revenue Mag is a great place to advertise if you are promoting affiliate programs and biz opps. Never used them though.

Have you since got more knowledge and experience in writing ad copy? If so where did you get that training, and where would you suggest one look for such traing?

Thank you for that piece of information. I will look into Revenue Magazine and see what they have to offer.
If you don't use Magazine ads, where and how do you promote your business ventures?
