MySpace?

Personally i hate myspace and the fact that Tom makes an insane amount of money... etc. etc. still good on him i guess.

When you search for my keyword, someones mypsace profile is one of the top results because it contains my keyword in her profile thing.

I looked into this and found a small group (maybe like 200 people) That have the game of my forum as one of thier interests, and im sure theres more out there that dont list it as an interest.

Do you think its worth making my own profile? Dedicated to my site? Would this count as some good links? I can then friend everyone that is interested in the game and perhaps commment them with a link, another good idea to build links?

If I were you I would create a Myspace profile dedicated to your game and I would start out by inviting those who listed the game as one of their interests to be your friend. I am not so sure about commenting on their wall with link, though, some may consider it as spam... not sure though.

I am not sure about the quality of links, but it can definitely bring in more traffic.

I would definetly get a myspace page, if there are already people interested in what you are working with there why not capitalize on it?

Of course I hate myspace as well, but I know that it can be used to successfully market websites and products so I would not discount it.

Myspace can be a great source for traffic with millions of members. The great thing about Myspace is the forums and groups, get involved with people interested in your niche and you could drum up more traffic easily enough.

Definitely get a MySpace page...that's where most of my traffic for my SouthernRapNews site is coming from...

What I do is put in friend requests with Southern rappers, dj's, etc...and I also send a message stating that I can give them free publicity...when they accept my friend request(myspace now lets ya know...great) I will leave a "flyer" as a comment and it shows my website of course...and I get so many friend requests for different rappers seeing that flyer, which also turns into page views. I don't feel that I'm spamming, cuz truth be told...that's how myspace works..anyone who has a prob with that usually will block HTML comments...and in fairness, I allow them to promote via my comment box too.

Since we're on it...does anyone feel that I'm spamming, or being unethical with my myspace procedure??

What you doing is ok. I dont see a problem with promoting yourself or let people see your flyer
