I found a cool site:

Its kind of like googles adwords and adsense, but its free and doesn't pay. But it appears to be great! You sign up, display the ads on your page, and then your ads will appear on other peoples pages too...for free. I just signed up 10 minutes ago and my ads have already been displayed 3 times. While no one has clicked it yet... i still find that to be a great deal of impressions in a short period of time!

Hi psychdev,

Can you tell through Analytics or another stat counter more info about the activity of the traffic coming from them? i.e. how long do they stay on your website, how many pages do they visit, what's the bounce rate, etc?

Welll... now about 5 hours after signing up, I have had my ad seen 20 times.. but still no clicks.. haha. If I start getting clicks I'll tell you what happens!

The original reason I asked is because there are a lot of ways to send a ton of traffic to a website, but the question is... is this traffic targeted? i.e. are they interested in the content of my website?

I have only briefly looked at adgridwork.com, but I will examine how it works when I get a chance... anyway, it may be very good at sending you quality traffic, but only time will tell, so keep your eye on what happens

it claims to work the way that google adsense works.. Your ads show up on related sites. So I would say the traffic SHOULD be targetted. The only reason the ads might NOT be targeted is that it says the more your ads are clicked on, the more times your ad shows up in the bunch.. and I didn't read anything about it checking for cheating.. ie, clicking your own ads like crazy.

What would be a good number of impressions before an ad actually gets clicked on?

When creating a campaign in Adwords, I have different expectations click through ratios (CTR) for different niches. Typically, I try to shoot between 2 to 10% (i.e. 2 to 10 clicks per 100 impressions).

But it could be reasonable to have different expectations for CTR for something like adgridwork.

You're right, though, I wonder how they regulate people clicking on their own ads. I guess, however, it could be rather difficult for someone to surf the web to find his/her ad on some other page, and then click on it a bunch of times.

okay.. 2 to 10%.. So far Im at 70 impressions and 0 clicks.. haha.

I havent actually looked to see what these ads look like, and you have to take into account that on these sites they may not be very easy to see or in a good place.

But most of my ads get clicked around 0.50-1% of the time, (this is the ads on my sites)

UPDATE:

I finally have some metrics to report!

My tagrookie website has not performed at all! 572 impressions since March 17. 0 clicks, and 0 conversions for a CTR of 0.0%.

!!

My Rate-My-Website site has done better, but still not very well at all!

Since March 20, it has had 1415 impressions, resulting in 5 conversions and 3 clicks, a CTR of 0.35%

The reason RMW received almost 3x as many impressions is because it received almost 4x as many page loads.

its like any ads, often you wont get a high CTR 0.35% isnt to bad. In the end if its worth those few people then stick with it, i mean they were free you didnt have to pay for the clicks.. thats a good part i guess.

I just found this Adgridwork tonight when I was doing a search for free website traffic on Google. Then I did a search here and found the thread. So, has anyone experienced a considerable amount of traffic from Adgridwork?
