Default Newsletter Help

MS Outlook does not hide my viewers' email addresses...or does it? Anyway, I can't figure out how to keep others from seeing them. Is there a relatively (relative to Outlook) inexpensive program to send out newsletters that will solve my problem or should I go with a service? Right now have about 30 subscribers and sending out individual emails to protect them is not working out. HELP! I don't want to spend $500 bucks unless I have to.

There are free bulk-mailers. I don't know any specific, but a quick search in Google should give you what you need.

If you are talking about sending out the same email to the list in Outlook it is quite easy. Just address one email, perhaps one to yourself in the "To..." address so you can check delivery if you want, then put the rest in the Bcc.. (blind carbon copy) field.

There is a good chance this field doesn't show up on your email form when you open it for a new message, which explains why it doesn't always make its availability known. After you open a new email form just click on "View" and then "Bcc field" to make it show up. You can add a group or list all at once from the contact lists so it is very quick and easy. No one will receive anyone else's address.

Good Success!

Alpha7,

Have you heard about aweber (http://www.aweber.com).

I absolutely love it, because it does all the work for you, starting from capturing the email addresses of those who sign up for your newsletter to sending messages automatically.

Here are some of my favorite features of aweber:

1. you can send personalized emails... so each person on your list will get an email saying, "Hello [their first name]".

2. when someone signs up, they can automatically get a welcome message.

3. you can set up an email series spaced out. For example, as soon as they sign up for your newsletter, you can send them a welcome messages right away. You can set it up where a day or two later, they can receive another message, followed by another message a number of days later, etc.

The Price? It comes out to about $18 per month. You can pay it monthly, or in a term of 3 months (a bit over $52) and longer terms are also available.

Anyway, just something to think about.

Sherif

Sherif took the words out of my mouth. I use AWeber for my flat stomach site. What an awesome tool and well worth the monthly fee. The reporting, personalization, is truly powerful. Something to think about for the future.

Default Aweber? Sure

alpha7,

If this is an echo, it is a good one. Even though I answered the question you asked about Outlook, I think Aweber is great, too. I started with Aweber at the same time I got a web host, before I had anyone to send anything to!

It automatically generates requests for confirmations to your mailing list for one thing which keeps anyone from submitting another's address and you getting accused of spam. It collects lots of statistics for you, helps eliminate dead names, and on and on and on. If you can spare the money it is a cadillac way to go for broadcasting email and newsletters, etc.

Good Success!

James

If you use the BBC address bar instead of the 'TO' address bar in outlook.

It will send the email out to everyone but not reveal any email addresses. Test it first but from memory it works that way. Its really easy.

Great! The 15 bucks a month sounds a lot better than $500 price tag I saw on some of the other software. At least i get to try it out with very little risk. I will check that out. ty
