Default Print media advertising

Hey Lisa (and members),

Should I even bother with local print media advertising or just stick with SEO and traffic promoting?
I've got experience in local advertising, but marketing on the web is very new to me. I have a strict budget to work with and I can't afford to spend hundreds of dollars with no return.
Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks,
Paula

I have no experience with offline /print advertising so I'm just the opposite as you. If you have experience with print advertising then why not experiment while you're waiting for the organic SE traffic to come in (because that can take some time.)

When I first started my very first site (not the one in my sig, it's no longer around) I did some offline newspaper advertising and it ended up being a waste. But then again I had no experience so I was going at it blind.

Hi Lisa,

I know newspaper advertising is a waste. I was a sales rep. for about 2yrs. with a newspaper and saw merchants repeatedly report no returns.
There is a local Bridal magazine that has viewed my sight with interest in advertising with them. They currently have no listings offering invitations, so I would be the first. My thing is limiting myself to only one genre, "Bridal", when my company offers much more.
I do see what you mean about SEO taking some time. I might go ahead and look into local advertising for the meantime.

Thanks Lisa!
Paula
